Realtor of the Week: Award-winning Dreyer stays connected to Houston

Sharon Dreyer, a Realtor with Douglas Elliman, has won awards in many different areas, indicating the support of the community for her and her involvement in staying connected to her hometown of Houston.

Due to her commitment to her clients and the high ratings they gave her on the services she provides, she was honored as one of the best agents in Houston, plus the Houston Chronicle’s “Sold on My Realtor” award. In her career she has also achieved the Society of Distinction and Hall of Fame memberships. Moreover, she was the recipient of the 2009 Spirit of Courage award from the Nancy Owens Breast Cancer Foundation after winning her battle against breast cancer twice.

Due to her experience with breast cancer, she is a board member of Wig Out, a nonprofit helping those suffering from the side effects of chemotherapy and other cancer treatments.

The awards she has received are also evidence of her love of people and her sincere care in working with her clients. She is also an excellent communicator, tenacious, optimistic, reliable, trustworthy, and dependable. After over 25 years in real estate, her market knowledge and experience greatly benefit her clients today.

“I love what I do and look forward to every day,” said Dreyer, whose main focus areas include the Inner Loop, Tanglewood, and the Memorial area, the areas she calls home.

Prior to real estate, Dreyer worked in the airline, dental and television industries. In these careers, what she loved most was working with people from all walks of life and backgrounds. Also, in these positions, she honed her communication skills and her drive to meet clients’ wants and needs.

“After my children completed school, I wanted to get back in the business world to be around more people and help them accomplish their goals and dreams of homeownership,” Dreyer said.

Even though she hails from New York, she is considered a native Houstonian after moving here in 1953. So, she knows Houston and surrounding areas and all these areas offer, including amenities.

She has also continued her real estate education to ensure her clients have the best possible service. For example, she holds a Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist designation. She is also a member of the National Association of Realtors, Texas Association of Realtors, and Houston Association of Realtors.

Dreyer is also the mother of four amazing children and five grandchildren. She is also an animal lover, especially for her King Charles spaniel, Murphy.
